Biography

St. Jalisa is an associate attorney in the Chicago Office. She defends product and equipment manufacturers in general liability, mass toxic tort, and product liability cases. Prior to joining the firm, St. Jalisa worked with the Cook County State’s Attorney Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting misdemeanor and felony crimes within the 6th Municipal District. St. Jalisa was committed to transforming communities by representing the People of the State of Illinois to insure justice for victims, the community, and the defendants. St. Jalisa also has experience working with diverse populations across varied socio-economic classes through her work within John Marshall’s Pro Bono clinic.

St. Jalisa has been committed to the social and economic transformation of marginalized and vulnerable communities. Post undergrad, St. Jalisa joined Teach for America to charter the corps in Tulsa, Oklahoma which sought to close the achievement gap. After the two-year commitment with Teach for America, St. Jalisa returned to Chicago to attend law school. While in law school part time, St. Jalisa worked full time as both an HIV Case Manager and evolved into the Patient Quality Assurance Specialist. She transitioned from working on educational equity to working to address healthcare disparities.

Outside of work, St. Jalisa enjoys traveling, golfing, and cooking. She is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. She graduated from the University of Illinois's Chicago School of Law in December of 2018.
